SCHOOL OF NURSING LAFIA INDICTED OF MALPRACTICES AND EXTORTION

The School of Nursing and Midwifery, Lafia is currently battling to safeguard its image over alleged sharp practices ranging from exams malpractices and extortion of money from some gullible students.
Information available to us indicates that staff of the  prestigious School of Nursing and Midwifery, Lafia, Nasarawa State are facing one form of allegation or the other.

Those being allegedly fingered of such allegations as we are informed are Madam Khadija Abusallam(Vice Principal Administration of the School), Mr Arikiya Abubakar( the physics Teacher in the school) and unnamed third party who were nipped while engaged in examination malpractices, a fraud involving even a management staff of the school.
Unimpeachable source revealed that on the 18/08/2021, a vice principal Adm Madam Khadija Abdusallam was caught red handed by Mr Allanana Kigbu at 10.00 pm where sensitive
materials of the 2021 session entrance exams are kept and was influencing the scores of some candidates whom allegedly bribed her with hundreds of thousands of naira leading to millions of naira in cash.

It was gathered that this might not be the first time, Madam Khadija Abusallam and her associates are engaged in such practices during every entrance exams and professional exams in the School of Nursing and Midwifery Lafia.
It was alleged also that, part of the money she usually collect from students as a condition help them during final year professional exams, it is alleged that she do bribe some of the external examiners with part of the money, thereby abetting serious examination malpractices in the School.
Another Serious concern is that, some candidates who do come back to the School for the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN)'s REFRESHER program, said in confidence, that she(Madam Khadija) and her associates usually collect money from some of them thereafter promote exams fraud during the Council final exams. Consequently, the School of Nursing and Midwifery Lafia is known as "miracle center" for the Refresher candidates in the whole Country.
No wonder, the school usually experience very high number of students year in year out coming for the refresher program compared to other similar institutions in the Country.

Sadly enough, the huge amount of School fees that the School even do collect from the Refresher Students don't get into the Nasarawa State Government account.

Madam Khadija Abusallam is also said to be in the habits of influencing the School academy board decisions on internal exams matters, such that some candidates whom bribe her usually will get their internal exams results arbitrary upgrade by some corrupted members of the school academy board

Investigation also revealed that another staff of the school Mr Arikya Abubakar, whom was called upon through phone that same night by  madam Khadija to quickly used his technical knowledge through the ceiling and evacuate another unmanned party of Khadija Abdusallam at 11:30 pm on the same night, Mr Arikya Abubakar, said!

It has been also alleged that, the same Khadija Abusallam in her usual subtle way, has since convinced other management staff in School to be double charging students for internal examination fee. In that, every student after payment examination fee alongside their School fees, the same students are still charge again examination fee for each internal examination.

What a tragedy for Nasarawa State as a whole and Nigeria at large

Madam Khadija Abusallam and Mr Arikiya Abubakar has since last week been reported to Mrs Khadija Oshafu, the seating Director of Nursing Services in the Nasarawa state Ministry of health.

We gather it on good authority in, that the madam Khadija Abusallam is just a diploma holder and yet manipulate herself to the top managerial position in the School which is against the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria practice. positions meant for only Nurses with a minimum of first degree in Nursing, based on the available 2016 circular from NCE and memo from Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.

However, the public are wondering if the permanent secretary and Commissioner of Health of the Nasarawa state ministry of health are in the known of this atrocities?

Like the Nasarawa Mirror would ask, will Nasarawa State Govt act or not, the public is waiting.
However, when contacted through telephone conversation to get the response of the said Madam Khadija, she debunked the allegations saying "it is not true".
