PPA EMERGES STRONGER AND UNITED AFTER CONGRESS, DESOLVES CARETAKER COMMITTEE, SETS UP ELCOM

The Plateau State Publishers Association has emerged stronger and more united after its Congress held Sunday at its temporary secretariat, Kalwa shopping mall l, Zarmaganda, Jos.
The Congress in its meeting decided to dedolve the Shabul Mazadu caretaker led exco after Godfrey Sunwar moved a motion for the desolution of the exco having expended its 6months tenure within which it was to run the association and conduct an election.
The association was bedeviled by an alleged maliciously sponsored write up by a non treasable writer who whipped up sentiments to gain the Governors sympathy for the then caretaker chairman Shabul Mazadu just a week before congress.

The report eroniously and maliciously indicted the Board of Trustee chairman, Chief Amos Gizo, a veterant Journalist, publisher of City Watch magazine/ newspaper and a political stalwart of conniving with Godfrey Sunwar of The Grassroots Watch magazine, Helen Bok of the Africa Magazine, Philip Zhattau of National Rescue newspaper, of being PDP publishers and working with one Akans, a PDP PRO to remove its caretaker chairman Mazadu for being an APC supporter and for giving a peace award to Governor Lalong.
The allegation was rediculed when Sunwar stated his position of being a professional and non partisan journalist who has also supported the peace award given to Governor Lalong by having the chairman of Bord of Internal Revenue, Dashe Arlat and Dr Dayyabu Garga, Commissioner Urban Development and Urban Planning to comment on the award.
Equally, Helen Book, Philip Zhattau and Chief Gizo corroborated the position and demand a retraction from the association PRO, Genus Nanfa who spread the malicious write up.
The Congress through an overwhelming vote supported the removal and desollution of Shabul Mazadu and his caretaker  exco and an electoral committee headed by chief Amos Gizo was selected to run the association for 6 months within which an election will be conducted.

This is however contrary to a misleading write up seen to be spread by Mr Shabul Mazadu that PPA has splitted. This only goes further to show how desperate he probably wanted to hung unto power.

The minutes of the congress can be made public to show how peaceful and a consensus was agreed to desolve the caretaker committee led by Mazadu.

Chief Amos Gizo was unanimously selected as election committee chairman, Dan Kura as Secretary, Florence Emi as Treasurer, Juan Enock as Financial secretary and Yakubu Ajala as PRO.

Shabul Mazadu, the oustated caretaker chairman inaugurated the electoral committee.
At the end of congress everyone left the meeting happy, united and committed to move the association forward

PLATEAU: CHIEF AMOS GIZO PARLEYS WITH 17 FORMER ACN LG CHAIRMEN.

A political Juggernaut, Chief Dr Amos Gizo receives in audience 17 former Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) local government chairmen and secretaries in his office in Jos on Monday.
