UPDATE: MRS LALONG TOOK ADEQUATE CARE OF THE ABATTOIR MOLESTED UNDERAGED GIRLS- Commissioner

As a follow-up on the update published yesterday by The Grassroots Watch blogspot, the said mother of one of the affected girls has tendered an unreserved apology to Plateau State government and her Excellency, Dr Mrs Regina Lalong, wife of the Executive governor of Plateau State for lying that no help came from the government.
According to her, "we were told not to mention anything so out of fear and in trying to protect my child from stigma, I was confused."

Please help me tell her Excellency that I am sorry. She has tried her best for us, she gave each of us, the parents cash support and parkages for our daughter, she equally promised to sponsor our daughters to school" the mother said.

When the Grassroots Watch finally got through to the Commissioner of Women Affairs and Social Development, she corroborated that Her Excellency, Dr Mrs Regina Lalong has displayed a high sense of responsibility since the issue was brought to her notice.
The Commissioner explained that she and the Speaker of Plateau State House of Assembly and other officials were in Jos East for the verification and preparation for the forth coming Local Government Elections that is why she could not be reached yesterday.

However, she stated that Mrs Lalong took the girls into custody, fed and took good care of them adding that the Governors wife gave each of the girls packages and cash support to all the mothers of the affected girls, and in addition she promised to sponsor their education.

On the whereabouts of the man in question, she said the government has been working with NAWOJ, FIDA, and the State Commissioner of Police. 

She adds that NAPTIP has taken over the case and has taken the man to Abuja for further investigation.

She therefore called on the public to know that the wife of the Governor and ministry of women affairs have done so much in regards to this case

UPDATE ON JOS ABATTOIR CHILDREN MOLESTATION SAGA

The residence of the Lebanese man alleged to have been involved in sexual molestation of under aged girls in Abattoir, Jos has been vandalised by irate youths in the area. The Grassroots Watch who went to the house in company of security agents discovered that while the security was trying to calm the situation at the police post where were beaten by the irate youths who took the advantage of concentration of security personnel at the Police outpost to sneak into than mans house and vandalised it. On entering the house, the team of security personnel saw the ransacked house in shambles. Items in the house were vandalised, destroyed and carted away. The next neighbour who is also a Lebanese, popularly known as God father was also attacked, his phones snached, cars vandalised and he escaped with degrees of injury.
