FG'S DEREGULATION/REGULATION OF PUMP PRICE IS CONTRADICTORY- GARGA
The dilema of speculated pump price increase of PMS in Nigeria has drawn the ire of the public in recent times, joining in the quest for clearity of governments stance on the issue is Dr Dayyabu Yusuf Garga, a Naional Deputy Chairman of Petroleum Tanker Drivers (PTD)/ Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas (NUPENG)
According to Garga, who doubles as the Commissioner, Ministry for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Plateau State who sees the issue of increase in petroleum price as a contradiction, said " it is a contradiction in the sense that government says it is going to fully deregulate the issue of petroleum products yet they are saying they are going to add price"
Garga reveals that In deregulation, you don't regulate ànd deregulate again. If you want to deregulate then the prices are going to be determined by the forces of market, if you are regulating which means you can add or reduce price but when you are fully applying deregulation policy then government should have no hand in price, it is the market force that determines the price.
He opines that " we don't know what government is up to, are we into full deregulation or they are still regulating?"
He adds that "If they are still deregulating then it means they will still pay subsidy, if they are regulating then it means market will determine the prices then there will be no issues of adding or reducing prices".
Garga charged the Federal government come clear with what they are up to adding " Are they regulating or deregulating? Let the people know what they are in for"
Garga made this known in Garga village of Kanam LGA of Plateau State during the wedding fatiha of his son Nasiru who is the secretary of Jos chapter of PTD/ NUPENG on Saturday 3rd April 2021

If we are celebrating we come out together to celebrate if we are mourning we also go together and mourn. We were at Aba some few months ago to burry the mother of one of us, we were in Lagos, we go to any part of this country together and be our brothers keeper and that is what is keeping the bond of unity in the NUPENG family"
