CHIEF GS PWUL (SAN) PROMISES FREE LEGAL SERVICES TO RATTAWU

A leading legal practitioner and first Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) in Plateau State, Chief Garba Pwul has offered his free legal services to the national body of Radio, Television, Theater and Arts Workers Union of Nigeria (RATTAWU) if the need arises.

Pwul made the declaration today in Jos while chairing the investiture of matron and patron and commissioning of a vehicle of the association which took  at FAJIB hotels, Jos.
The Plateau State Council of RATTAWU which now has the Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Dame Pauline Tallen as it's matron and the member representing Pankshin, Kanke, Kanam in the Federal House of Representatives, Hon Adamu Babayo Gagdi as its patron said their selection to hold this position is born out of their track record of selfless service to humanity and enormous support to the association.
Chief Pwul while assessing the performance of RATTAWU and the media in general said " the media is an image maker, and the reputation of everyone in the society depends on its image, so any one who can handle your image is some one who can make or mar you in the society, therefore if RATTAWU as professional journalists are credible in raising the reputation and the fame of  everyone in the society they can make that person and on the other hand if they are on the part of destruction they can bring down even a credible person. However that is not to say the man that does not have reputation and credibility can be made to have one by RATTAWU or any journalistic profession."
He adds that a serous and sincere journalist will not  deliberately bring down a man of good character and reputation but nomatter how good a person is, he needs an image maker to give him that final touches in the society and that is the role a journalist or RATTAWU can do.

On the performance of the Plateau State council of RATTAWU, Chief Pwul opined " having studied and followed their activities I rate it as first class professionalism in practice, secondly, I see them as very free from biase  and partisan politics I also see them as people who call a spade a spade and as people who are ready to use their profession to build the society ".
On the issue of decentralized payment of local government salaries granted by Governor Lalong on request of the local government workers and the inability of the chairmen to pay salaries owing over three months runing, the Senior Advocate posit that the local government workers were misinformed that the state government was tampering with their monies which is not true and the governor granted their demand for financial autonomy.

He called on Governor Lalong to consider their plights and bring them back for discussion saying " when a father chastises a child with  a left hand he should bring them back with the other hand" and to the workers he said they should realised that  governor is a father and a lover of Plàteau State who has their interest at heart.
While speaking on his political ambition, the solicitor and advocate reveals that he has developed the passion for Plateau over the 30 years he has practice law in the state saying he has never left the state and as thus he knows the people's yearnings  and their challenges and the people know him as well. Adding that the people of Plateau should wisen up a go for a leader who has stood by them and knows their challenges and has a solution of taking them to a greater level.
