PLATEAU: NATIONAL COUNCILORS FORUM OF NIGERIA AWARDS PERFORMING TECNOCRATS.

The Plateau State chapter of National Councilors Forum of Nigeria has on Friday bestowed prestigious meritarous awards on deserving Plateau State tecnocrates who have distinguished themselves in various fields of endeavors.

The Award and Dinner night event which was first of its kind on the Plateau ever to have been organized by the Councilors took place on Friday at the Langfield Resort, Rayfield, Jos.

Those singled out for the awards include: The Governor of Plateau State and Chairman Northern Governors Forum, His Excellency Rt Hon Simon Bako Lalong, The Speaker, Plateau State House of Assembly, The Deputy Speaker, Federal House of Reps, Rt Hon Ahmed Idris Wase, Rt Hon Abok Nuhu Ayuba, The APC acting Chairman, Plateau State, Hon Chief Latep Dabang, The Minister for Women Affairs, Same Pauline Tallen, Member representing Pankshin, Kanke and Kanam Federal House of Reps, Rt Hon Yusuf Gagdi, The Executive Secretary, Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, Rev Dr Yakubu Pam, the Director General, ITF, Sir Joe Ari (KSM), ALGON Chairman, Hon Ezekiel P Vuelgap, The VC University of Jos, Prof Sabastine Maimako, The Commissioner of Works, Hon Pam Botmang, and the Chairman, Universal Basic Education, Prof Matthew Sule 

According to the Chairman National Councilors Forum of Nigeria, Plateau State chapter and convener, Hon Silas Ishaya Agwom, " we deemed it imperative and necessary to identity and award some of our sons and daughters who have distinguished themselves in the political arena in delivery of dividend of democracy to our people "

Agwom further adds that the program is a unifying force which symbolises the unity of grassroots politicians in Plateau inspire of perceived differences".

The APC chairman who was accompanied by his wife said he is excited to be considered for the award which is an indication that his contributions have not gone unnoticed and that it wouldn't have been possible without the support of the party.

Dabang popularly referred to as "the masquerade" said he will arrange for a round table meeting with necessary stakeholders in the state to look into the challenges of the Councilors in the state. He equally announced the donations of motor circles, grinding machines, water  pumps, sewing machines to all the APC local government offices made by the Deputy Speaker Fed House of Reps, Idris Ease, whom he said heeded to his plea to assist the party.

Also responding, the ALGON Chairman, Ezekiel Vuelgap who was full of appreciation said he dedicate the award to all the local government chairmen in the state whom he represents saying they are the reason behind his success and why he was awarded on their behalf. He further appreciate the cordial working relationship the chairmen have with their Councilors.
