DAYYABU GARGA BAGS A PRESTIGIOUS AWARD FOR HUMANITARIAN SERVICES FROM MYROLE AIDS MISSION

The Executive Director of Mytole Aids Mission, Prince Solimon Gokas, unbehalf of the Mission has today Thursday presented a meritarious award of Humanitarian Services to Hon Dayyabu Yusuf Garga, Commissioner of Physical Planning and Urban Development, Plateau State, in his office in Jos.

Prince Gokas who was accompanied by  Hon Sam Cholom, a Senior Special Assistant to Governor Lalong on Finance and a Board of Trustee member disclosed that Myrole Aids Mission committee sat down and deemed it necessary to reach  5 people out of 18 that were not present at the award night in Abuja, to give them an award of recognition for their humanitarian services, adding that the award is aimed at spurring them to do more for humanity and to encourage others to venture into humanitarian services too.
He further stated that Myrole Aids Mission is a Non Governmental Organisation registered with  Corporate Affairs Commission and is in partnership with 4 Federal Ministries, saying " After being registered with Federal Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning as an organisation that will be operating here in Nigeria, we are in partnership with the Federal Ministries of Humanitarian Affairs, Education,  and Water Resources. We have letters given to us by these Federal Ministries for partnership. Basically on health matters we have been giving free medical services in Shendam and Wase Local Government areas of Plateau State in conjunction with the Federal Ministry of Health."
Gokas went further to say "today we are here to rub minds and to appreciate you with an award because you can never pay anyone who has involved his finances  and energy into humanitarian services, definitely they are not doing it for profit otherwise they would have invested in other profit generating businesses, but in this kind of services you have availed yourself into is not something you are looking for a reward for from men but rather a blessing from God. Today we are here not to give you a reward but to appreciate you for what you have been doing in regard to your services in area of education where you have offered free scholarships to over 50 students of which we have been keeping track record of. People have been watching what you are doing  and are writing the reports of services you have been offering. You have done more than offering scholarships but we have concentrated on scholarship because we see it as a bedrock of nation building. If you want to build a nation then you impact on education, and when educated they can help build a nation".
Also contributing, Hon Sam Cholom said "when I saw your name on the list of awardees I said this is a person I have been following his track record and they are facts. When you affect humanity you build a society and if you don't affect humanity positively you cause it to be in shambles. What you are doing is a challenge to those who have the same privilege with you but are not using it to better the society. I would crave your indulgence to extend your hands beyond your immediate constituency, we have a lot of youths in the Northern zone of Plateau State who are affected by the crises that engulfed the zone in the past, we have a lot of orphans, widows, who are just roaming about helplessly. You can reach out to them too"
In acceptance, Hon Dayyabu Yusuf Garga, The Commissioner of Physical Planning and Urban Development, Plateau State, who was in company of the Acting Director  of Administration, Mr Kitchime, DPRS Staff, .and Miss Ladi Emmanuel the Information Officer of the Miniatry who were on ground to recieve Myrole Aid Mission team revealed " I have been turning down most of the awards when they come to me particularly after presenting their case, when they have not made any point to make me accept their award. I would ask them to channel the award to someone who merits it .
But the few things you have mentioned, I was contemplating whether to accept it or not but the few things you  mentioned have made me to change my mind because I hardly accept awards these days, it appears that is the only thing politicians want. They want to be given awards for publicity and that is not my kind of person.I have been doing my things silently, I just want to touch lives.
So I want to thank Mytole Aids Mission for honoring me with this award. I also want to call on the general public, let us not just wait or seek for awards seeking for publicity, no, let us seek for ways to help one or two persons to stand on their own. Let us leave something as a legacy so that when you are no more there people can remember you for what you have done in their lives"
